Motivated by the love for her region, in 2017 Mafe established the company in the municipality of Guateque, with the purpose of creating a product with high added value, making visible the artisanal and cultural wealth of the region.
“Establishing a business in a rural region has been a challenge, allowing me to grow as a woman, believe in myself and learn from wonderful people. Every morning I get up with an immense satisfaction for working from this region, where life is leisurely. I enjoy the smell of the countryside, eating a piece of fruit without eagerness, walking barefoot and connecting with the earth. I like water, to see it run, to swim in it, to feel it. I want the Armantia woman, like me, to find happiness in the simplicity of things”
Today, Armantia makes 100% Boyacá garments, which reach a national and international premium market. The company works with several artisan communities in the country and has alliances with other garment workshops that provide support while the operation grows sustainably.
